Story
Conceptualized in September and launched in November 2021 as one of the first 3D NFTs on Hedera, PixelRug has grown into a collector staple, constantly innovating tokenized creativity! The idea for PixelRug was sparked by creator Brandon Davenport after spending weeks in virtual NFT art galleries all over the metaverse, admiring all the incredible artwork. He found it very inspiring to be a part of a new creator community, but the question was: how would an NFT project find its own space?
Well, it turns out there was an untapped market in the metaverse… the floor! Quickly, development began for an art collectable that would give people a new way to express themselves, merging 3D objects and pixel artwork. Hedera Hashgraph was chosen as the DLT to mint PixelRug, providing a fast, secure, affordable and environmentally friendly way to trade NFTs. These simple concepts paired with a collector-focused brand strategy allowed PixelRug to become a premier collectable in the post-blockchain era!
Mission
Cultivating a trustworthy brand, creating carefully crafted metaverse collectibles and building a friendly community are top priorities. Everything PixelRug does is for the purpose of building trust with collectors and bringing value to the NFT community in a transparent way. This is achieved by staying focused on the fundamentals: customer service, maintaining a robust foundation and frictionless communication. At the end of the day, if we’ve made the NFT space a little more inclusive and supportive, it’s a good day.
Vision
The desire for “simplicity” is the main driving force behind the PixelRug project. The dream is to create multi-generational collectables that anyone can utilize in their everyday life. As we begin our journey, the vision is to grow sustainably to the point where we can support other artists and businesses in the Web 3 space, in addition to giving back to those most in need. As the roadmap develops, it’s shaped by the community; so we carefully pay attention to every piece of feedback, insight and idea.

The Creator
PixelRug is founded by Brandon Davenport (he/him), a creative developer with over 10 years of history and experience in professional branding, web design, media production and community building. His past projects include founding a major online tech publication, providing creative/development services to industry leading companies, consulting with dozens of businesses and artists in addition to touring as a musician.
Throughout his career, Brandon has remained focused on the longevity of his projects and the importance of building relationships and trust. Entering the Web 3 space has given him a fresh way to implement his unique, thoughtful approach to community building as an artist and developer. Most recently, he co-founded the creative agency Doerksen & Davenport Inc. that supports in the development of PixelRug. He also regularly hosts discussions in the broader Hedera Web3 community.
